Electronic transactions covering transactions in the business sector and government services in e-government work including transactions conducted by citizens or consumers are gaining in importance, particularly in the area of creating added economic value and improving quality of life for the people. However, online communications to conduct transactions have issues in the area of confidence in the identity of individuals, websites, servers or any equipment, information system or entity. This issue led to development of public key infrastructure (PKI) technology.
