Thailand's NRCA and Global CA Leaders Collaborate to Strengthen CA Infrastructure

Bangkok, Thailand – January 24, 2024 – The National Root Certification Authority (NRCA) of Thailand, in collaboration with SecureMetric of Malaysia and Scytáles AB of Sweden, today announced a new partnership to strengthen the country's CA infrastructure. The partnership will focus on the development of a testing laboratory and prototype system based on the eIDAS 2.0 framework, a new European Union standard for electronic identification and trust services.

“This partnership is a significant step forward for Thailand's CA infrastructure,” said Dr. Chaichana Mitphan, Director of the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA). “By working with global CA leaders, we can ensure that Thailand's CA infrastructure is aligned with international standards and meets the needs of businesses and government agencies.”

As part of the partnership, SecureMetric and Scytáles AB will provide technical expertise and support for the development of the testing laboratory and prototype system. The testing laboratory will be used to validate the interoperability and security of CA systems. The prototype system will be used to demonstrate how the eIDAS framework can be implemented in Thailand.
