Thailand NRCA organized the 3rd CA Knowledge Sharing seminar Knowledge sharing on Lessons learned about the CA business in Thailand
On June 25, 2024 – Thailand NRCA Project (NATIONAL ROOT CERTIFICATION AUTHORITY OF THAILAND), the National Digital Certificate Service Provider operated by the Digital Service and Security Center of the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) has collaborated with government agencies such as the National Telecommunications Company Public Company Limited (NT) and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), the private sector such as One Authen (Thailand), which is a provider of digital certificates under the Thailand NRCA project, and GlobalSign (Singapore), a leading company in digital certification services, organized the 3rd CA Knowledge Sharing seminar of 2024 to exchange information and knowledge related to CA Technology, including lessons learned about the CA business in Thailand and other topics such as Digital Signatures, and the use of short-lived certificates to increase the security of electronic transactions.
CA Knowledge Sharing seminar 3 covered the history and overview of the Thailand National Root Certification Authority project. It invited businesses to join the new Root Program, specifically NRCA G2 and NRCA G3. Additionally, it discussed operational guidelines for digital certificates in various sectors such as finance, public health, and the use of Short-lived Certificates via the Automatic Certificate Management Environment (ACME) protocol. Topics also included digital signatures used for document signing, and client authentication. The session was presented by Mr. Zhong Han Chua, APAC Sales Engineer of GlobalSign. It received significant participation from certification authorities, both public and private sectors, and interested individuals in CA technology, totaling more than 40 attendees.
Thailand has a critical and essential digital infrastructure for online transactions, aimed at establishing document trust and supporting new digital services and activities. Over the past 15 years, NRCA Thailand has continued to focus on promoting and driving CA technology in the country. This effort aims to raise awareness of technological security and leverage acquired knowledge to maximize benefits, thereby enhancing Thailand's technological standards effectively and meeting global service user demands.
