NRCA Thailand Presents CA Knowledge Sharing #4 "Thailand PKI D-Day: Enabling Thy Trust"

Today (August 22) at the Grand Fortune Hotel Bangkok – Thailand NRCA (National Root Certification Authority of Thailand), organized by the Information Infrastructure and Security Center of the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), is hosting the 4th CA Knowledge Sharing event. This event, themed "Thailand PKI D-Day: Enabling Thy Trust," aims to provide a platform for exchanging knowledge on the development of digital certificates globally and the evolution of digital identity in Europe.

Participants will also explore new technologies such as Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) with leading PKI experts. This event is focused on enhancing electronic security and building trust in all forms of transactions. PKI2024_1.jpeg

This event is supported by both public and private sector organizations, including National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), Thai Digital ID Co., Ltd. (TDID), One Authen Co., Ltd., Bangkok MSP Co., Ltd. (BMSP), Securemetric Technology Sdn Bhd, Keyfactor Inc., Scytáles AB, and GMO GlobalSign. These organizations are experts in electronic certificates (Certificate Authorities - CAs) and have collaborated with Thailand NRCA to organize this event.

The event will feature a range of highlights, including a vision presentation by Dr. Chaichana Mitrpant, Director of ETDA, showcasing the policy-level direction for building confidence in online transactions under the Thailand NRCA project for 2024–2027. This will include efforts to enhance practical applications of the Public Sector Development Facilitation Act.

Attendees will also gain insights into new business opportunities in the field of electronic certificates (Certification Authority) from Mr. Somphong Assawaboonmee, Business Exchange Manager at National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT). He will demonstrate various applications in both the public and private sectors.

Furthermore, Mr. Tomas Gustavsson, Co-founder of PrimeKey, will present on the global CA landscape, sharing his expertise in the development of EJBCA software. Additionally, there will be a discussion on cross-country identification development in Europe by Dr. Vangelis Sakkopoulos, Chief Technology Officer of Scytáles.

Additionally, attendees have the opportunity to learn and exchange experiences with leading Thai electronic certificate providers, including Mr. Worawat Paarporn (TDID), Mr. Paradorn Athichitsakul (One Authen), Mr. Pramote Kingkumklang (NT), and Mr. Kris Nawani (BMSP). They will share insights on the importance of digital certificates in enhancing security and trust for online transactions and digital documents.

Participants will also experience new technologies such as Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and see demonstrations of Time-Stamping technology by Mr. Zhong Han Chua, APAC Sales Engineer of GMO GlobalSign, which effectively enhances the credibility of digital documents. The 4th CA Knowledge Sharing event received a strong response from over 160 participants, including businesses, government agencies, and private sector representatives from both Thailand and abroad, all interested in digital certificate (CA) technologies.
